Charles Cornell Coleman was born October 13, 1956, to Charlie Coleman and Euna Faye Giddens, in Dek alb, Texas. He is the oldest child of OC and Jerline Gid dens. Charles attended and graduated from Dekalb High School in 1975. After graduation he attended Prairie View University before transferring to Texas Tech due to receiving a full scholarship.
Charles joined the US Army after leaving Texas Tech. He was a decorated 1st Sergent who retired after twenty-one years of service. Before he retired, he received numerous accolades such as, the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Ary Achievement Medal, Valorous Unit Award Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Bronze Star Medal, and Globe War on Terrorism Medal.
When he moved to Amarillo, he met the love of his life, his wife, Annie Coleman. They were married for forty-two years. His army career carried he and Anne from Ger many to Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Coleman and Euna Giddens, grandparents, OC and Jerline Giddens, and sister, Bridgette Coleman
. He leaved to cherish is memories, wife, Annie Coleman; siblings, Clint Bernard Coleman and Shelia Coleman; niece, Imani Coleman; nephew, Chance Coleman; aunt, Euna Wright, uncle, Curtis “Fuzy” Giddens, and a host of family and friends.
