Obituary

Chad Lamar Mitchell was born on November 18, 1976, to Ernest Ray Mitchell and Phyllis Jeanette Coffer-Mitchell, in Los Angeles, California. He attended public schools in Los Angeles and Amarillo, Tx. He graduated with a GED and attended college courses at Amarillo College, and online courses at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. Chad worked at Tyson Food Plant and shared a business detailing cars. He also enjoyed playing his video games on PlayStation 4. Chad was a diehard Oakland Raiders fan, and he loved the LA Lakers basketball team. He loved to barbecue and always made sure everyone was straight. Chad had a very special love and bond with his pit bulls, especially “Blue” and “Eli.” He also held an unconditional love for his family. He has always referred to his mother as “My Queen.” Chad dearly loved Sharonda Davis, who he shared the past seven years with. Chad cherished his brothers, his children, and his grandchildren. He has been a major support to many of his cousins, his “other brothers,” and his friends. Chad has always known the Lord since an early age. In a recent encounter with the Lord, he made a decision to rededicate his life back to Christ, at a revival in November 2022. Prior to the revival, God had already stated the process of Chad’s turnaround. It was Chad’s desire to be baptized on February 19, 2023.

Chad was proceeded in death by his father, Ernest Mitchell (Los Angeles, CA); his grandparents, Henry Mitchell and Mrs. Mary Mitchell (Los Angeles, CA); Superintendent Noral C. Coffer and Missionary Robbie Mae Coffer (Amarillo, TX). Chad leaves to cherish his memories with his mother, Sister Phyllis Mitchell (Amarillo, TX). His son, Davadjae Vasquez (Odessa, TX); his daughter Zikeria Carruthers (Amarillo, TX).

Chad also leaves behind his fiancé, Ms. Sharonda Davis; his brothers Ricky Rayvonne Coffer (Amarillo, TX); Trayvonne Deshun Mitchell (Los Angeles, CA); his sister Talesha Mitchell (Gardena, CA); 3 aunts, Patricia A. Coffer (Los Angeles, CA); Eartha Demerson (Amarillo, TX); Robbie Medlock (Cedar Hill, TX); a host of close cousins; Elder Glenn Coffer, Rhonda Coffer, Yolanda Coffer, Ersela Demerson, Natalie Demerson-Watkins, Elijah Demerson II, Richard Coffer, Corey Medlock, and Cedric Medlock. Chad’s other brothers and cousin figures include Dante Johnson, DeMarcus Morrow, Kevin Flowers, and Danielle Daniels. Chad is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
