Cassandra Renee Rabb, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Amarillo, Texas on August 18th, 1957, to parents, Maceo Van and Ollie Lean (Higgs) Rabb. As the 4th child among five siblings, she attended Hilltop Elementary, Carver Jr High and received her High School Diploma from Amarillo High School, class of 1973. She attended Amarillo College and Killen Community College, where she earned various certificates. Soon after high school, she met and married Private Jerrold R McClendon and to that union, one daughter, Angela Carmaine and one son, Anthony Jermaine (Jerrold, Jr.) were born. Later, she met and married Jerome Whittaker and to that union, she gained two bonus children.
She was fondly called “Nay-Nay” by those who knew and loved her best. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand, even to total strangers. She was a woman who loved well and was well loved. Cassandra had a compelling personality and if you ever met her, you would never forget her. Cassandra’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and most especially, her great-grandchildren. If you wanted to see the more “colorful” side of her, just step on one of their toes and you would see it quickly! Her favorite holiday was always Christmas and spending it with her great grandchildren was the highlight of her year. Her favorite pastimes were playing bingo and joyriding around the neighborhood.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maceo V Rabb, and her beloved son Anthony Jermaine (Jerrold, Jr). Also, by her Aunt Dorothy, with whom she had a very special relationship.
She leaves to cherish her legacy: her mother, Ollie Lean Rabb; daughter and “best friend”, Angela Fisher; bonus children, Shellie Clark, Jerome Whittaker Jr; significant other, Vernon Anderson; grandson, DeQuarius Fisher; granddaughter, DeAntranee Fisher; great-grandchildren, AriAsia Fisher, C’Niyah Cook, Amarini Fisher, Akiya Fisher, Jeremiah Fecko, brother, Stanton Davis (Jeanetta); sisters, Patricia Wesley (John-D), Haturia Slack (Dan), Madalyn Jones (Michael); special cousin, Delbert Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
