Calvin Wayne King was born on December 30, 1952 in Fredrick, Oklahoma to Bubba Stanford and Lillie Mae King. He moved to Amarillo, Texas as a young child. He attended school at North Heights, Carver, and Palo Duro High.
Calvin King was the oldest child and has 2 brothers. James (Teresa) Bryant of Amarillo, Tx and Carlton (Becky) Johnson of Van Nuys, California.
While in school Calvin was an awesome football player and an all around athlete.
He served in the military and received an honorable discharge.
Calvin King met and married the love of his life Yolanda Martinez and from their union he had 3 boys and 1 girl. Corey Nickerson, Calvin King II (Phadera), Cameron King (Jacque), and Chara King (Carlos), all of Amarillo, Tx.
Calvin enjoyed coaching for Kids, Inc of numerous sports. He loved all kids and treated them all as if they were his own. He was a competitive man and loved to play dominoes and spades. Calvin enjoyed his life to the fullest.
Calvin was proceeded in death by both parents, 1 uncle Billy King and 1 aunt Jewel King.
