A beautiful jewel, Brittany Monique Gilbreath, was born to Juanita Ann Morris and Orlando Myron Gilbreath on June 19, 1989, in Amarillo, TX. She began her education journey attending Opportunity School at a very early age. She later attended Hamlet Elementary, Sam Houston Middle School and Palo Duro High School, graduating and earning her diploma in 2007. Brittany was part of a Cosmetology/ work program at her high school in which she started working at one of the local hospitals, Northwest Texas Hospital in the Dietary Department. She was recognized as a teenager balancing work, and home life while facing many obstacles. She also worked at BSA Hospital before moving to Arlington, TX in 2012. She worked for HMS for in Irving, TX for a few years following the move.
Brittany has been placed in the lives of many, where she has been a joyful inspiration and has set the tone of being a strong fighter. The simplest pleasure of life is all she ever wanted to be a part of. Being the chosen one as a Godmother to her babies, Montrey Sanders, Maurtaven “Son” Reed, La’Shiya Thomas, Nason Benoit, and Parker “Sugg” Adcock, was a great deal of joy for her and she embraced every moment with them as they brought her peace. She is and will forever be “Baby Cakes” and “Cutie!”
She was preceded in death by Edward Van Gilbreath, Obie Die Swain, and Bentley Morris.
She is survived by her parents Juanita Ann Morris, and Orlando Myron Gilbreath; siblings LaToya Morris (Ja’Vion, Ja’Den, and Ja’Lya Hayes), Shundrika Morris (Kor’Davian Johnson, Braylon, and Brooklynn Moore), Tierra Gilbreath (Zi’Meer and Ti’Meer Irabor), and Myron Gilbreath; grandparents Vurnell Gilbreath, Fannie Swain, and Faye Morris; an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including a special bond with Lakent Hicks.
