Billie Collins Obituary

In the gentle embrace of the heavens, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul, Billie Carl Collins, Sr. Born under the care of a midwife, Billie’s life was a tapestry of resilience, passion, and boundless love. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Deborah J. Collins. An entrepreneur by trade, he was a master of many crafts, and each skill was a testament to his unwavering dedication and insatiable curiosity. But beyond his professional endeavors, Billie’s true legacy lies in the profound love he held for his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his cherished family.

A man with a heart as vast as the horizon, Billie’s presence was a beacon of light in his community. Always ready to offer a helping hand or a comforting word, he lived his life with unwavering compassion and selflessness. Devoting his days to Christ, Billie’s faith guided him through the trials of life, inspiring all who knew him to walk with grace and humility. Billie is an “Icon”. As a teacher of life’s many lessons, Billie shared his knowledge of mechanics, home repair, and bricklaying with all who sought to learn. His work as a subcontractor for the city of Amarillo, Texas, was a reflection of his commitment to serving others, even in the most challenging of circumstances. A man of many talents, Billie’s love for scavenging for parts, bricklaying, and fishing, painted a picture of a life lived with passion and purpose.

His heart overflowed with love for his family. Hosting grand family reunions in the warmth of his home, Billie’s laughter echoed through the halls, a melody of love and togetherness. A guardian to many of his grandchildren, he nurtured their spirits with care and wisdom, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. In the tender embrace of his family, Billie found his greatest joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Collins, Sr., and Hazel Collins; sons, Darrell Collins and Stanley Willis; siblings, Frank Collins, Jr. (Bubba), Laura Collins Artist (Beatrice), James Collins (Pookie), Louise Collins Suarez (Mary), Sammy Ray Collins (Sam), Terry Wayne Collins (Larry), Shirley Ann VanLow (Shirl), Robert Earl Collins (Mike), and Deborah Kay Davis (Debbie); and children, Elijah Collins Loko. Rachelle Collins, Williams Collins, Billy Collins Jr., Mike Collins, Darrell Collins, Francis Elaine Collins, Betty Williams, Terry Collins, Stanley Willis, Willie Mae Rector, and Amour Palmer.

Billie is survived by his children: Billie Collins, Jr., Stanley Willis, Mike (Erma) Collins, James Collins, Terry (Tabitha) Wayne Collins, William (Jasmine) Collins, and Rocky Collins, Elaine Collins, Elishia (Fredrick) Collins-Loko, Rachelle Collins, Betty Collins, Mae Mae, and Nicole Fennell; four siblings, Valorie Davis (San), Vanessa Collins Penson (NeNe), Theresa Cheetham-West (Bonnie), and Anthony Lamar (Tony) Collins; thirty-five grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, other family, and friends, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
