Bell was born in Jackson, Mississippi on April 20, 1961, to the late David and Mozella Stingley. She was baptized at an early age and attended Greater Love Temple Church in Amarillo, Texas.
Bell attended Port Gibson high school, and married her high school sweetheart Julius Purnell in 1981, They then moved to Texas. She later went on to attend Amarillo College, where she received her nursing degree in 1987. She did local and travel nursing and healthcare throughout many states. She worked taking care of others and her family until her health declined. She would give you her last, and regret it wasn’t more. Her smile was contagious and could light up the room. She was a woman of faith, a devoted mother, and had many passions including gambling, playing cards, traveling, reading, cooking, and later in life, her grandchildren.
Bell was preceded in death by her parents David and Mozella Stingley, Uncle James Ray Waites Sr., one Sister Rose Stingley, and two baby brothers Don and Ronnie Stingley.
She leaves to cherish her memories Julius Purnell, Father of her two daughters, Sheneeka Annette Purnell her youngest, Keisha Rena Purnell eldest, her two daughters/ grandchildren Moniquesa Flanagan, and Sa’Nieya Stovall; Two stepdaughters Tyrise Jackson, LenTanya Summage, and adopted granddaughter Kyrie Gross; Sister Pearl Stingley, Brother Willie Stingley as well as numerous extended family, classmates, relatives, and friends.
Momma, you will be missed more than you will ever know. They say that it gets easier as you go. Right now, I don’t know if that to be true, because life seems to have lost all meaning without you. My head knows, your body was not meant to last, but my heart says I want to go back to the past. We tried to hang onto you as long as we could, but as much as we want you here, heaven required you there. Until we see you again hugs and kisses.
“Her children rise up and call her blessed; “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:28-29
Well done Ma, for everything you have ever done, you are appreciated and loved. ~Bell’s Babies
