Attie was born to Georgia Mae Crawford and Rev. James Talbert on April 28, 1941, in New Boston, TX. She grew up in Matador, TX where she met and married her husband Rev. James R. Alexander, Sr. on December 28, 1969, just prior to moving to Dimmitt, TX. She worked domestically for the Willis family for 31 years before retiring and relocating to Amarillo in 2001. Her hobbies were church, singing, loving family, friends, and Walker Texas Ranger.
Attie is preceded in death by her husband: Rev. James R. Alexander, Sr., daughter: Rayenell Johnson, granddaughter Deirdre Black, brothers: Leo Anderson, Arthur Anderson, Bennie Anderson, Joe Anderson, sisters: Ruby Edwards, Leti Richardson, and Barbara Jeffrey.
Attie is survived by her daughter: Louise (Josephus) Blackmore of Amarillo, TX; son James R. (Marcelle) Alexander, Jr. of Mansfield, TX; sister: Carol Greathouse of Arlington, TX; brother: Carl Talbert of New Boston, TX; grandchildren: Isaac Johnson of Odessa, Shenell Johnson of Amarillo, Sharette Johnson of Amarillo, Courtney Alexander of San Antonio, TX; Samantha Alexander of Mansfield, TX; Jace Alexander of Mansfield, TX; great-grandchildren: Janaya Alexander of Amarillo, TX; Shaliyah Alexander of Amarillo, TX; Joeqavis Fagan of Amarillo, TX; Azeanna Luna of Amarillo, TX; Mikela Norman of Amarillo, TX; Zykavion Barnes of St. Louis, MO, Narizia Barnes, St. Louis, MO; Miles Alexander of San Antonio, TX; and a slew of nieces, nephews, and friends.
