Andrew Burns, Sr., was born on November 23,1947, to Clarice Taylor and Oscar Burns in Plainview, Texas. Andrew was a loving, caring life of the party type of man. Those that knew him, once he got a tall boy, you better clear the scene and try it again the next day. Through it all, everybody knew he meant no harm. He had a grand heart and would help whomever. He worked as a bricklayer. Andrew always kept him something going on even until his demise. His favorite words where “You can’t beat me doing nothing!” And stood on that. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, whose life touched many people. Andrew loved to crack jokes, listen to down home blues, and relax.
He was preceded in death by mother, Clarice Taylor; father, Oscar Burns; brother, Robert Lee Fennel; and sister, Joann Burns.
Survivors include: three sons, Andrew Burns, Jr., Alton Burns, and Ashton Burns, all of Amarillo, Texas; eleven grandkids; sixteen great-grandkids; two brothers, Virgil (Amy) Burns and Johnny (Kim) Burns, both of Amarillo, Texas; and two sisters, Alice May Jackson and Diane (Benny) Marshall, both of Amarillo, Texas.
