Armstrong was a very bright, nurturing, funny, loving, devoted father. Growing up he enjoyed cultivating his music career, and
he was always the life of the party in every room he entered. Allen loved his family with all his heart but most importantly his five
daughters and his two stepchildren. They were the foundations of his world. He was a loving and caring father who was dedicated to meeting the needs of his baby girls and son. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his children. If you needed someone to make you laugh you could always call on Burga. He was always present for family and enjoyed supporting his niece and nephews at sporting events.
Allen was born on September 12, 1981, to Norma Jean Armstrong and Jimmie Smith in Amarillo, TX. He attended Whittier
Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School, and graduated from Palo Duro High School with the class of 2000. While attending
Palo Duro high school he was a starting linebacker, a starting wrestler, and was on the powerlifting team. Allen enjoyed being
a class clown as well as being very active in the theatre arts. Being
very active in high school he met a lot of his lifetime friends. Allen
gained his wings on August 11, 2025.
He was preceded in his death by dad, Jimmie Smith; grandmother, Evaline Hampton; daughter, Zynique Armstrong; brother, Corey Black, and stepfather, Tim Williams.
Allen leaves to cherish his memories with his mother, Norma Armstrong of Amarillo, TX; pops, George Skinner; children,
Allandria, Ki’ Ara, Jay’Lynn, Zaybrea, and Brooklynn Armstrong and two stepchildren, Shal’kowiran and Briazanae’ Benard of
Amarillo, TX; significant other, Brandi Carter of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Elizabeth Armstrong and Kiska(Roderick) Caldwell
of Amarillo, TX; niece Kori Black ofAmarillo, TX; nephews, Davarious Dunn and Carl Dunn Jr. of Amarillo, TX; two uncles, Louis Black and Daniel (Charlene) Hampton of Waxahachie, TX; Aunt, Mona of Amarillo, TX, and a host of family and friends.
